Features of PSA/VPSA Oxygen Plants

PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) and VPSA (Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption) oxygen generation plants are engineered for optimal separation efficiency, making them highly cost-effective for large-scale operations. These plants function by utilizing molecular sieves to extract oxygen from air, based on the PSA principle.
When the required feed air is not available from a centralized air supply, an additional air compressor must be installed to ensure proper operation. For medical applications, such as in hospitals, bacteria filters are incorporated to ensure the delivery of high-purity oxygen.

Key factors influencing the design of PSA oxygen plants include:

Packing of the zeolite bed
Length of the adsorption bed
Diameter of the bed
Rate of feed air supply
